TIP OF THE DAY - Remember to back up your images

Part of what keeps me going is taking pictures for my own enjoyment. I think if I ever lose that then I’ll be done. So I thought I’d share a few fun ones I took of family & friends in Chicago this summer.

I absolutely think you (and that means YOU) should document family stuff like this, don’t miss out. ALSO, download your cards immediately and burn them to a CD/DVD or save them to a safe place. BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP! Part of the reason I’m writing this is I can’t even count the number of times people come up to me and tell me their stories of lost images/memories because they never pulled the card out of the camera and then lost the camera or it was stolen. It only takes a second and it is your negative.

Well, once in awhile I get to mix it up on Saturday night and yesterday I got to go to the Nickelback concert at Verizon Music Center. I would much rather have been shooting someone’s wedding, but since no one decided to get married on August 15th, I had to find something else to do. LOL These were taken on my little P&S camera so keep that in mind.

They put on a great show with lots of fire & pyrotechnics (is that the right word)? Enjoy!

We got there a little late due to (cough) I69, I know…we should’ve gone the back way. We missed Saving Able but as we were walking down to find our seats Papa Roach was literally right in front of us in the crowd! A great way to start off the night.

The classic mandatory self-portrait. We are so lucky at concerts! The couple sitting next to us wanted their friends to be able to sit with them so they asked us if we wanted to trade seats with their friends. Turns out the friends had seats in row 24!!! WOOT! We were so close we could feel the fire!
